Air France’s unions will not be welcoming the parent company’s new boss with open arms when he starts next month. For one, as a Canadian he’ll be the group’s first foreign chief executive, and on top of that he’s secured a 300 percent salary increase to join. They also bristle at the success of Dutch partner airline KLM, whose base in Amsterdam has increased its share of the combined company’s long-haul flights as the proportion based in Paris slides.
