High drama prevailed at the Kempegowda International Airport on Monday morning after the airport authorities received a hoax bomb call.

Around 10 am, an unidentified man made a call to the airport officials saying he has planted a bomb at the passenger drop bay and that it will go off around 1 pm.

Soon after the call, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and airport police station launched a search and called the bomb detection and disposal squad, which rushed to the spot.

After a three-hour search, the officials declared it as a hoax call.

An airport official said the police have traced the mobile location and the number from which the call was made and will arrest the mischief-monger soon.

The services at the airport remained unaffected, said an official from the Kempegowda International Airport.
