For an astounding tenth year in a row, Air New Zealand has been named Australasia's leading airline.

The latest award came overnight in Hong Kong at the World Travel Awards, which are decided by travellers and tourism professionals. Air New Zealand was also named the region's best airline brand.

"This is a huge achievement and I'd like to thank all of our customers as well as those in the industry who voted for Air New Zealand," said Mike Tod, the airline's chief marketing and customer officer.

Air New Zealand is no stranger to accolades. In May, it was named the second best airline in the world, after Singapore Airlines, in TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Awards.

And in April, the airline took out a series of full-page newspaper ads in Australia after being named the nation's most trusted brand — over Australia’s own flagship carrier Qantas. It was the second year in a row taking home the most trusted brand title.

"We've taken the cake, and this time it's not the pavlova" the ad taunted.
